Schedule of Parks
The Department of Parks and Public Property is responsible for approximately 40 parks and facilities available for open space and recreational activities.
Pavilion Reservations
There are three parks in the City where pavilions may be reserved. Illick’s Mill Park, South Mountain and Saucon Park. The cost is $25.00 weekdays and $50.00 on the weekends. Reservations will only be accepted with full payment. For further information, call the Parks & Recreation office at
Sand Island Tennis Courts
The Sand Island Tennis Courts will remain open in September from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The courts will remain open on the weekends in October from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Hourly fees are $4.50 per person and $2.50 for students.
Bethlehem Halloween Parade
The annual Halloween Parade will be held Sunday, October 29th at 2:00 p.m. with the rain date on Monday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. The theme of this year's parade is "Millenium Magic". Anyone interested in participating should call the Recreation office for an application.
Trick or Treat Night in Bethlehem is Friday, October 27th from 6:00-8:00 p.m.Other programs and facilitites offered by the department are the Ice House on Sand Island, a year round recreational and performing arts center. The Bethlehem Municipal 18-hole Golf Course and 9-hole executive course and driving range, eight clay tennis courts on Sand Island Park, picnic pavilions at South Mountain, Ilick's Mill and Saucon Park and the Bethlehem Municipal Ice Skating Rink located on Ilick's Mill Road which is open during the winter months.
